Our Europe tours cross a continent where each country holds a different part of the same long story. Painted caves in the Dordogne and rock engravings in Portugal's Côa valley record the oldest art anyone made. Greece produced the Bronze Age palaces of Minoan Crete and, later, the Acropolis. Rome built from Provence to the Danube and left amphitheatres, baths and aqueducts behind it. Byzantium answered in mosaic at Ravenna and Istanbul, and the Renaissance arrived in Tuscany. Alongside all of it are the gardens: Keukenhof in spring, the châteaux of the Loire, the Alhambra at Granada and the villa gardens of the Riviera and the lakes.
Each Europe tour is built around one shared interest, whether that's archaeology, art, gardens or history, and you travel with specialists who love sharing it.

Italy, France, Greece, Spain and Portugal, the Netherlands and Belgium, Germany and Austria, Turkey and Cyprus each have tours of their own, with more of Europe covered besides.
Archaeology and ancient history, art and architecture, gardens and the flower show season, and later European history. Several tours combine more than one, which is easier in Europe than most places.
It depends on the subject and the country. Mediterranean archaeology suits spring and autumn, when sites are quieter and the heat is manageable. Northern gardens peak from spring into early summer, and several city tours run deliberately in winter.
Yes. Every tour is fully escorted from the point you join it by a Tour Manager who travels with the group throughout and brings their own specialism to the subject.
