Travelling alone, in good company

Our solo travel tours are built for people who want to go explore their passion properly, without going on their own. Travelling alone can be daunting, and the thing that changes it is the group you land in: guests who have chosen the same subject for the same reasons, and who tend to fall into conversation before the first day is out. Friendships form quickly on these tours, and many last for years to come, with guests reconnecting afterwards and booking their next journey together.

Every tour travels with a Tour Manager who looks after the group throughout and brings their own specialism to the subject, and who is used to making sure that solo travellers feel part of things from the start.

You don't just see a site like this — you learn to read it. Once you know where to look, every broken wall is still telling you something.

Solo Travel Tours: Your Questions Answered

Almost certainly not. A good number of guests on any departure are travelling solo, and because the group is drawn together by a shared interest rather than by who happens to be with whom, it rarely divides into couples and everyone else.

They will, if you would like them to, sit with you at dinner or over coffee, introduce you to other guests and generally make sure you feel welcome and part of the group.

Not always. Selected departures carry no single supplement, and others carry a reduced one. Those departures are listed separately, and it is worth looking at them first if the supplement is what has been putting you off.

As much as you want. Time is built into the itineraries for wandering, sitting or exploring on your own, and nobody minds if you would rather have dinner quietly one evening.

All of them, in truth, since every departure carries solo guests. If it is your first time travelling alone, a shorter UK or European tour is an easy way to start.

Only that each itinerary carries an activity level of light, moderate or active, and it is worth choosing one that matches how you like to travel. Beyond that, the arrangements are handled for you.
